My Favourite Things About Performing and Entertaining, Why I Love to Perform!

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! I've got more of a behind the scenes, more about my performance background for you all today! As you may know I've been an entertainer, performing for any and all audiences for twenty two years and counting, LIVE SINCE '95, THAT'S ME! In this post and video, which is just above this paragraph, I detail what my absolute favourite parts of performing and entertaining are, and why I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO PERFORM AND ENTERTAIN! It's a total pleasure and an absolute rush for me to perform in any way, whether I'm on stage, on air, in a recording booth, I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE TO PERFORM! To me, it's the greatest feeling in the world! When the crowd responds, it's nothing short of magical! Ever since my first performance way back in 1995, I've been completely hooked on the feeling, the rush, and the crowds! Performing and entertaining are honestly the two GREATEST loves of my life, outside of my friends and family. It's kind of like that warm and fuzzy feeling with the volume turned all the way up, I wouldn't trade it for anything! Furthermore, as rewarding and fun as it is for me to entertain a crowd of any size, and as happy as I am when people approach me after a show and say how great it was and how talented I am, the real reward for me happens when someone comes up to me and tells me how good my performance made them feel, how nice it was for them to just forget about life around them, forget their troubles, and just relax and unwind. The goal for me in all my performances is to make sure people enjoy themselves, have a good time, have fun because I think as we all get older we sort of forget that this whole "life" thing is a ton of fun, and it is meant to be cherished and enjoyed to the fullest! With that said, I hope you enjoy the video, the story, and if you like what you see and hear, then please SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL to keep up with all my latest releases and goings on! Cheers,

Night Court Theme Inspired Beat | Hello, Your Honour (Prod. by Leigh Dickey)

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! More BRAND NEW MUSIC for you all today! This original instrumental composition is inspired by the classic 80's TV show, "Night Court". The beat is constructed like all of my other work, I use the old K.I.S.S. rule, KEEP IT SUPER SIMPLE! It started with a VERY simple chord progression on a whirly electric piano in GarageBand, doubled and tripled up with a classical piano and a smooth clav, both also from GarageBand. Funny thing about using the smooth clav with the same main chord progression, I wanted to use more than just a electric piano and classical piano, I wanted something a little more. So, the smooth clav was used in order to add a bit of a comedy type edge and feel to the instrumental, and like I said in the beginning of this paragraph, I was inspired by the classic 80's TV show, "Night Court". That theme has hints of cool, hints of comedy, and sounds VERY 80's, which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Lots of love in there! The drum kit in this instrumental came together REALLY quickly, and incredibly simply! I wish they could all come together as easily as this one did. The first thing I laid down was the kick drum, which I got from a hip hop drum machine kit, followed by a house drum machine snare drum. Once the main bits of the drum kit were in place, I added some SUPER fun elements, a shaker from the classic drum machine in GarageBand and a clap pattern using the house drum machine from GarageBand as well. Putting this composition together was SUPER, SUPER fun and suprisingly SUPER, SUPER easy! It's MUSIC to my ears, if you will, and it's easily one of my most favourite original pieces that I have EVER made! I hope you all enjoy it, and if you like what you see and hear, then please SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL to keep up with all my latest releases and goings on! Thanks everybody! Talk to you all again soon.

Live On Air Mishaps Hosting A Radio Show Entertainment Vlog Behind The Scenes Story Podcast Interview Clip

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! Another cool behind the scenes story for you all today! In the clip, which is just posted above this paragraph, I describe a live on air mishap while hosting a radio show. This happened while I was in college, and involved some notes and a desk or table type thing! I think, if I can recall correctly, this happened maybe 15 to 30 minutes into the broadcast. I remember I had typed up these notes the night before, just to help me along when the show went live to air. For the most part, making the notes did help me not only for this show, but for all my other shows thereafter. This particular show I don't really remember much about other than this certain mishap or mess up, I would have to go back and listen to it, I'm sure I still have it somewhere. Mishaps and mess ups aside, hosting any sort of show, radio, television, events, live performances, anything along those lines has always been SO MUCH FUN for me! There's nothing like it! It's quite the rush, super exciting! When you're live, you're live! Flying by the seat of your pants, without a net, and that feeling is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy this little behind the scenes story, and if you like what you see and hear, then please SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL to keep up to date with all my latest releases and goings on! Performing In Front Of Larger Crowds VS Smaller Crowds! Entertainment Podcast Media Interview Clip

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! More cool behind the scenes stories for you all today! This is a clip from a podcast interview I did. In this clip I give my opinion on performing in front of larger crowds versus the smaller crowds, and which of them I prefer. Performing in front of larger crowds, in my opinion, is easier for me because it's less personal and there's less to worry about. Some people may see it the other way, and I understand that. However, with more people I feel more relaxed, more at ease. When I perform for a smaller crowd of people, my senses are heightened because I can see the amount of eyeballs on me, and with a larger crowd it's impossible to see EVERYBODY! When looking out into a larger crowd, the audience honestly looks like a bunch of dots, and I'm not saying that to be disrespectful, that's just my opinion and a matter of fact. In front of any crowd I feel right at home, I'm comfortable, but in front of the larger crowds, I REALLY feel at home, I'm much, much more relaxed. I hope you enjoy the clip and please, tell me what your preferences are. Larger crowds or smaller crowds, which do you prefer? Cheers. Jeff Lorber Fusion Wayman Tisdale Julian Vaughn Darren Rahn Smooth Jazz Pop Beat Instrumental 2017

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! More BRAND NEW MUSIC for you all today! This one, a Jeff Lorber Fusion, Wayman Tisdale, Julian Vaughn, and Darren Rahn Smooth Jazz Pop crossover inspired instrumental beat! The construction of this composition began like all of my others, VERY INCREDIBLY SIMPLE! I started with the smooth chord progression on the "Whirly" electric piano in GarageBand, then doubled that exact same progression with a sci-fi, smooth jazz sounding synthesizer called "Neon Koto". Those two synthesizers, in my opinion work so, so well together, SUPER WELL! I then laid down a bass pattern underneath both synths, and even though the synthesizers on their own sound super full, super fat, I think the bass just adds an extra jolt of cool to the whole instrumental, they just all fit together so, so well! Once the main parts of this composition were in place, I then moved onto building the drum kit. First, I played a continuous hi hat pattern, followed by my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE drum production technique when I put down a kick and clap on top of one another. I think using a kick drum and clap on top of each other adds an extra boost to any composition. I have used other patterns and techniques, but the kick and clap on top of each other is my go to, my fall back that I employ quite a bit. The last piece I added to both the whole instrumental and drum kit was the shaker pattern. Normally, I don't like to use a hi hat and shaker in the same composition because in my experience they interfere with each other a little too much. I made an exception, however because when I laid the shaker pattern down with the hi hat, I could hear both parts equally, and I felt it just added a little more to the beat. I did try using one or the other separately, but decided to use both parts because to me, it just sounded right. This is one of those tracks that I wanted to make in the hopes that anybody and everybody would use it to relax and unwind. A cool, breezy, kick your feet up, on a beach, reflection kind of tune. I hope you all enjoy this original instrumental, and if you like what you see and hear, then please SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL to keep up with all my latest releases and goings on. My Daily Walk A 30 to 45 Minute Journey I Make EVERYDAY to My Favourite Coffee Shop

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! Another cool story for you all today! If you guys follow me on INSTAGRAM, FACEBOOK, or TWITTER, you know that I frequent a certain Starbucks that isn't that far from my house, and I love to walk there, truly I love to walk EVERYWHERE! In the video that is placed just above this paragraph, I take you with me on MY DAILY WALK! The reason I walk everywhere is because A, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, but also because it's my main form of exercise. I mentioned in several past videos that I am disabled, I have cerebral palsy, and I use a walker to walk. I really fell in love with walking when I was in elementary school and spent countless recesses walking around the school track. What walking gave me was time, time to think, time collect my thoughts, time to decompress and unwind, which to me is one of the GREATEST things EVER! I recorded this last summer, so getting to walk outside, not to my favourite place, with some of my favourite people in jeans and a t-shirt, it doesn't get any better! I will say filming my daily walk while trying to steer my walker with one hand was not easy! Nonetheless, my daily walk is one of the coolest, one of the greatest things I get to do! So, I hope you all enjoy the video, and if you like what you see and hear, then please SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL to keep up with all my latest releases and goings on. Thanks everybody! Talk to you all again soon.

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! Mother's Day is this Sunday! This Sunday, May 14th, and I wanted to share what I got for my mom this year with all of you! I purchased the Copper Chef As Seen On TV System for her. I decided to buy it because we had seen it one day while flipping channels, watched the whole infomercial, I think we both found it entertaining because let's face it, who doesn't love food! Food is a universal language, and every corner of the world has their own tried and true dishes, recipes, and traditions, and in my opinion, my mom is the best cook, so I can't wait until she starts cooking all her greatest meals on the cool piece of cookware! It's a total surprise for her, as she has no idea that I went out to buy it, she said she wanted it when we were watching the infomercial, so it was really a no brainer for me. Anything my mom wants, I will always do my best to make it happen and give her anything and everything that she asks for because after all she has done for me, I figure that's the least I could do! Like any child, I am no different and want to make my mom as happy and proud as I possibly can! I'm SUPER, SUPER giddy just thinking of what her reaction is going to be, I'm super excited! With this product, the Copper Chef As Seen On TV System, I've heard nothing but great, cool things about it, from friends and various reviews I've read, so I can't wait! This should be one of the greatest days of my life EVER! What are your plans for Mother's Day? Tell me in the comments! Thanks everybody! Perfect Friday Night Weekend Relaxed Upbeat Pop Beat Instrumental Jam 2017 Prod. by Leigh Dickey

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! BRAND NEW MUSIC PERFECT FOR YOU AND YOUR FRIDAY NIGHT AND WEEKEND! The story behind this instrumental and beat begins with me wanting to create a SUPER relaxed composition that would be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT TO JUST UNWIND ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AND OVER THE WEEKEND. Like most of the instrumentals and beats that I have created, this one started with a drum kit, specifically a BIG, BIG, sounding kick drum that is very straight forward and hits on every beat of every bar. Once I had that kick drum laid down, I moved onto the shaker, which I think added some cool shuffle, like a cool accent. The last thing in the drum kit, is a clap from the Classic Drum Machine within GarageBand. From there, the main genesis of this composition began to take shape with a VERY SIMPLE chord progression on variation of the electric piano known as "Whirly" in GarageBand, which I then doubled up with a science fiction, smooth jazz kind of synthesizer called, "Neon Koto", and I think it just added a real, real smooth element to the whole beat, which I couldn't have been any happier with! The last part that I added was a simple, simple bass pattern, that really adds to both the synth and piano parts. I've always been a fan of jazz music, I REALLY, REALLY LOVE SMOOTH JAZZ, and I wanted to produce and create something with that kind of feel. This was another one of those instrumentals that was so, so much fun for me to put together! It just sounds SUPER COOL, SUPER SMOOTH! It's the perfect Friday night, weekend, kick your feet up, time to relax and unwind instrumental jam! I hope you all enjoy this track, pump up the volume, and jam out to this original piece! It was a lot of fun for me and I hope it's just as much, if not more fun for all of you! If you like what you see and hear, then please SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL to keep up with all my latest releases and goings on. Thanks everybody! Talk to you all again soon.

The Largest Crowd That I Have EVER Performed In Front Of! Entertainment Performance Media Story Vlog

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! A cool little behind the scenes treat for you all today! This is a little snippet from a podcast interview I did back in December. The clip details the largest crowd that I have EVER performed in front of! The performance happened at one of the world's most well known universities, the University of Toronto. It was quite the rush being in front of the mass amount of people that were there. It was a total last minute decision to put on this show, a total last minute decision to perform, but it was a total, total blast, lots and lots of fun! It was wonderful to be in front of a crowd of that size, wonderful to be in front of a crowd comprised of mostly my peers, at that time, it was just SUPER, SUPER COOL and made me feel so, so good! To this day, it's one of the most fun, exciting, cool stories of my life and career. I hope you all enjoy this story, play the video placed just above this paragraph to hear the whole thing. I am sure it's a story that you all will like, enjoy, and perhaps a story that you all can take something from. Thanks everybody! I hope you all enjoy it, and please tell me some of your cool stories in the comments. Thanks again! Talk to you all again soon.
