10/16/2017 0 Comments Chris Rupp, Deke Sharon, Jeff Thacher When The Saints Going Marching In! (A Cappella Cover) My Music Favourites Beats and Speaks PodcastHey Everybody! How’s it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! Another one of my music favourites for you all today on this latest episode of the Beats and Speaks Podcast! Today, I give you all my thoughts on Chris Rupp’s cover of “When The Saints Go Marching In!” Chris Rupp, of course was one of the founding members of the a cappella group Home Free, and with this cover he brought Jeff Thacher, who has been the vocal percussionist for perhaps the very first mainstream modern a cappella groups, Rockapella since 1993, and Deke Sharon, who is considered by some people to be the father of contemporary a cappella. What I love most about this cover is that it is just SUPER FUN! They say people can see through an act, and that is exactly, at least the way I see it, isn’t! It genuinely looks like EVERYONE in this video is having the time of their lives! From Rupp to Thacher to Sharon to the VERY LAST Patreon member! It looks like a total blast and I honestly wish I could’ve been on this video shoot. The vocals are very upbeat, very bright, very happy, as they should be with this song. From the way the song is arranged to the way the video is shot, the whole production just seems to come together perfectly, so well! A wonderful surprise in this video was the fact that, for me anyway, was that it featured Jeff Thacher on VOCALS! I HAVE NEVER heard Thacher on vocals EVER! If my memory serves me correctly. I don’t think Jeff has ever sang on a Rockapella before, so this would be my first memory of him singing on a record! I’m over the moon excited about it! He sounds fantastic, as does Chris Rupp and Deke Sharon, respectively! The bass, which I assume comes courtesy of Deke Sharon sounds massive, full, on point, it’s great! This whole track and video just screams FUN, and that looks like that’s exactly what’s happening in this video, FUN! Nothing but great things to say about the visuals and performances in this video, and I now want to go out and buy Chris Rupp’s “Rise” album! Chances are, I probably will! Great video, great track, great artists! Something that looks SUPER CREATIVE AND SUPER FUN! You can’t ask for anything more! Those are my thoughts on Chris Rupp’s cover of “When The Saints Go Marching In!” Hope you all enjoyed it!
