Kevin Pillar, an outfielder with the New York Mets was at the plate against the Atlanta Braves on Monday night, when he was hit in the face by a 95MPH, which is more than 151KM for everyone in Canada or on the metric system fastball, thrown by Jacob Webb.
While it drew blood and was one of the scariest things I have ever seen in a baseball game of any kind, at any level, ever, Pillar did manage to get to his feet and walk off on his own. He later posted on Twitter thanking everyone for reaching out, but that he was doing fine. My reaction and thoughts on what happened are in the video in this article, along with a video of the incident itself. Thanks for your time. Best Regards, Leigh Dickey
