Leigh Dickey Family Feud Announcer Demo Game Show Announcing Demo

Picture

Hey Everybody! How's it going? Hope you all are fantastically well! I've got a treat for you all today! A few years ago I decided to record an announcing demo for one of the world's most well known game shows, "Family Feud". I've always loved the show, having watched reruns of the Richard Dawson and Ray Combs versions growing up. I remember when the show was revived for syndication in 1999, with Louie Anderson chosen to host and the legendary Burton Richardson as the announcer. I've always been a fan of Burton and his announcing style. He's very lively, very excited, and I think that feeling translated really well to both the in studio and at home audiences. At the time of the recording of this demo, Steve Harvey was in his fourth season as host of the show and former *NSYNC member, Joey Fatone was also in his 4th season as announcer. It's always been a dream and goal of mine to be an announcer on a game show, and I thought that recording would be a good idea. I think I did a great job on this demo. The goal with it was to get attention on my announcing and voice over skills, but also to extend the announcer's intro as much as possible, as I feel that during Fatone's run as announcer, he didn't have much chance to show his personality, as his intro was incredibly short, and in my opinion, it sounded spliced in to the beginning of each episode. The demo was completely improvised, then written down for later recordings, if need be. I hope you all enjoy this demo recording, this little treat.
