The Powerpuff Girls live action pilot is being reworked at The CW, according to an article from TVLine.com. Apparently the pilot for the live action adaptation of the popular children's animated property came in a bit too campy for those in charge at The CW. The pilot was produced with the intent of making The CW's 2021-22 television schedule, but unfortunately didn't make grade.
After reading the article from TVLine, it seems that there is enough their for the network to still be high on the project, it just didn't tick all the boxes this time around. That said, all the cast and crew from the pilot are staying on board and the network is giving it another go, considering the pilot and show for a spot further on down the road. Admittedly, I am not the demographic for The Powerpuff Girls or The CW, and personally I don't think that The Powerpuff Girls is the type of property that needs a live action television show, but I don't work for The CW. I don't mind the apparent campy nature of the original pilot because I am a huge fan of the Batman television series from the 1960's that starred Adam West and Burt Ward. What do you think? Are you surprised by The CW wanting to rework The Powerpuff Girls pilot? Thank you for your time. Best Regards, Leigh Dickey
