People Who Stare at Traffic Accidents! Stop It! | November 2017 | Beats and Speaks Podcast

Hey Everybody! How’s it going? Hope you all are awesomely well! I’ve got another opinion piece for you all today! It’s about people, drivers who insist on stopping and staring at traffic accidents, whether they happen on residential streets, freeways, highways, interstates, etc... I was in the United States this past weekend, Michigan to be exact, visiting family. On the car ride over the border and onto, I think it was Interstate 696, or something like that. We were probably over the border in Detroit for no more than 5 minutes, and we all notice, I mean everybody in the car that the TRAFFIC IS REALLY, REALLY BAD! It was rush hour, we originally chalked it up to that, but as we got closer to an exit ramp, we notice that there has been an accident on the opposite side of the interstate! We were travelling NORTH, the accident happened in the SOUTHBOUND DIRECTION! Nobody was hurt, to my knowledge, thank goodness! At least, it didn’tlook that way. This is where I lose my mind! Common sense dictates that in rush hour, no matter where it is, traffic will be bad, we all know that! Rush hour = traffic bad! Okay, got it! What makes it worse is when there is an accident, in this case it’s in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF TRAVEL then we are going! To add to that, people are slowing down and staring at this accident, and if you know anything about driving, to slow down and not completely stop, you have to take your foot off the accelerator, the gas pedal. Internally I am ABSOLUTELY LOSING MY MIND! Ladies and Gentlemen, why must people stop and stare at traffic accidents?! Why?! It affects EVERYBODY when someone stops to stare at an accident, whether it’s in the opposite or current direction of a person’s travel! EVERYTHING gets backed up because people want to look, take photos, videos, and generally just gawk at the scene of an accident. I DO NOT, HAVE NOT, AND WILL NEVER understand why people stop and stare at traffic accidents! If you’re not affected by the accidents, you best keep right on driving! It’s just best practice, in my opinion to focus on you and not something that you cannot control, like an ACCIDENT THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE YOU! There are much more interesting things in life than traffic accidents, of course, I’m just saying, but for some reason people are fascinated with I don’t want to say morbid things, but just REALLY, REALLY unpleasant things, and I don’t get it. What’s your opinion on this matter? Let me know! This has been my opinion on people who stop and stare at traffic accidents and inconvenience and delay everybody! If you like what you see and hear, then PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL to keep up with my latest releases and goings on! Thanks everybody! Talk to you all again soon.

Cheers,

Leigh Dickey
